Dark and Spicy Chocolate Cake

Chocolate Cake

Divinely rich and spicy cake, perfect for chocolate lovers! 


  • 150g butter
  • 300g dark chocolate 60%
  • 5 eggs
  • 50g golden caster sugar
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground cardamom


First melt the 300g of dark chocolate. Then add the butter and mix until the butter is completely melted in the hot chocolate. Take the 5 eggs and separate the whites from the yolks. Add 25g of the sugar in the yolks and whisk them together until they get creamy. When you’re done whisking, add the melted chocolate and butter in, as well as the spices – cinnamon and cardamom.

Then add the rest 25g of sugar in the egg whites and whisk until it become foamy cream. Add this foamy cream in the whisked egg yolks and chocolate and mix with a spoon.

Take a 20″ cake tin and put the mixture in.

Bake 20-25 minutes for 180 C.

You’ll know it’s done when it’s all puffed up and little bit cracked on the edges.
